If you will be staying for some time before or after your procedure, you should also include expenses for activities and restaurants. Step 2: Planning Your Trip
Once you’ve decided to move forward, our team helps coordinate the logistics — recommended dates, length of stay based on your procedure, and any pre-operative instructions such as lab work or medication adjustments. Most patients plan their trip 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
Step 3: Arrival in Cancun
You’ll typically arrive one to two days before your procedure to complete final in-person evaluations and rest before surgery. Our bilingual team coordinates airport transfers and hotel check-in as part of your package.
Step 4: Surgery Day
Your procedure is performed by your board-certified surgeon with full anesthesia support. Hospital stays vary by procedure — most patients spend one to two days at the hospital before transitioning to their hotel to continue recovery.
Step 5: Recovery in Cancun
Recovery time in Cancun varies by procedure, typically ranging from 7 to 15 days. During this time, a personal nurse monitors your healing, and your surgeon conducts follow-up evaluations before clearing you to travel home.
Step 6: Returning Home & Follow-Up Care

1. Read Reviews
Instead of basing your decision on money, consider the service and results of your chosen facility. While you can’t walk over and check it out for yourself, you can look at online reviews. By reading about the experience of others, you can learn what to expect.
Look for reviews on several different websites. Although client testimonials on the facility’s website can be helpful, you should find other sources for reviews. Consider what prior patients have to say about the doctor’s bedside manner and skills. If you come across any reviews that voice concerns about cleanliness or malpractice, be wary and do more research.
It’s likely that you will come across a bad review in your research. However, you shouldn’t base your decision on one review. Rather, look at many reviews and make a general opinion on the practice. If you don’t speak Spanish, you need to look for a facility that has bilingual doctors and staff members. While most places are bilingual, some are not. You might not be able to communicate with your doctors or nurses.
