Riviera Plastic Surgery Center is proud to offer B-Lite® lightweight breast implants — one of the most significant advances in breast augmentation in the last decade. If you are considering breast implants in Cancun, this is worth understanding before you decide.
What are B-Lite® implants?
B-Lite® is the world’s first and only lightweight breast implant, developed by POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics. Unlike traditional silicone implants, B-Lite® uses an innovative composite gel made from the latest generation of cohesive silicone bonded with lightweight microspheres originally developed for the space industry.
The result is a breast implant that is up to 30% lighter than a conventional implant of the same volume — while maintaining the same shape, feel, and aesthetic outcome.
Why does implant weight matter?
This is a question patients rarely think to ask, but it is one of the most important factors in long-term results.
Heavier implants place continuous stress on the surrounding breast tissue. Over time, this pressure contributes to ptosis — the gradual drooping or sagging of the breasts as gravity works against the tissue holding the implant in place. The heavier the implant, the more stress on the tissue, and the greater the risk of ptosis developing over the years following surgery.
B-Lite® implants are specifically designed to reduce this long-term impact. Because they are lighter, they exert less pressure on the breast tissue, reducing the effect of gravity as a woman’s body changes over time. They also reduce the dynamic forces caused by movement — less stretching of the tissue during daily activity.
What are the benefits of B-Lite® implants?
Patients who choose B-Lite® implants can expect several advantages compared to traditional silicone implants:
Less pressure on breast tissue, reducing the long-term risk of sagging and ptosis Greater daily comfort due to reduced weight Less post-surgical pain and shorter recovery time reported by patients The ability to achieve the desired volume increase with significantly less total weight More predictable long-term natural look and feel Better imaging clarity — under mammography, the B-Lite® gel is more translucent than traditional silicone, resulting in greater clarity. Under ultrasound, fewer artefacts and better shell definition are observed 100% MRI compatible
Are B-Lite® implants safe?
Yes. B-Lite® implants were introduced in 2013 and are used and recommended by leading surgeons in over 40 countries worldwide. The clinical record is strong:
97.1% of patients with B-Lite® microtextured implants were reoperation free at 6 years 96% of patients reported their breasts had a soft and natural feel 95% of surgeons were very satisfied or satisfied with the aesthetic result 99% patient satisfaction reported in independent surveys
POLYTECH is also the only breast implant company committed to a proactive annual patient follow-up programme, tracking patient outcomes and implant performance over an extended period — a level of post-market commitment that reflects confidence in the product.
How are B-Lite® implants made?
The B-Lite® gel is the result of over a decade of research and development. It combines the latest generation of cohesive silicone with lightweight hollow microspheres manufactured in the USA specifically for POLYTECH. These microspheres — originally developed for the aerospace industry — are what make the composite gel uniquely form-stable while being significantly lighter than traditional silicone.
The microspheres have been independently tested for safety and biocompatibility. They are inert, meaning they do not interact with the body’s tissues.
Who is a good candidate for B-Lite® implants?
B-Lite® implants are a strong option for:
Patients who want to increase breast volume but are concerned about the long-term effects of implant weight Active women who want greater comfort during exercise and daily movement Patients who want the best possible conditions for long-term natural-looking results Anyone who has been hesitant about breast implants due to concerns about weight or future sagging
B-Lite® implants are not suitable for every patient. Your surgeon will evaluate your anatomy, skin quality, and goals during your video consultation to determine whether B-Lite® or traditional implants are the right choice for you.
